Malpelo and Cocos combination, September 7 to 24 2012

Dive Conditions: Cocos:
Reduced visibility. Mostly 27 degrees surface temperature.
Variable currents.
Malpelo:
Good visibility. Mostly 27 degrees surface temperature.
Variable currents.
Weather: Some sun and not much rain, two days of fresh winds in Malpelo, otherwise pretty calm
Crossings: Golfito to Cocos: Little to moderate headwinds
Cocos to Malpelo: Fast sailing nearly the entire distance in fresh to strong southwesterly winds
Malpelo to Golfito: First fresh, later weak winds.
Highlights: Cocos: Hammerhead and Galapagos Shark encounters.
Malpelo: Close Hammerhead encounters. A big Manta Ray
is searching us to free him from fishing lines he is dragging around and what are cutting him.
